Fruit Sticker Archive
About

While this collection is digital, all stickers come from the physical world. They were first preserved in this outdated planner, with no rhyme nor rhythm—just pure chaos and passion.

ABOUT

This website acts as an archive of fruit stickers from Angie Li’s personal collection, acquired between 2021 and present day. This archive showcases an often overlooked visual ephemera that traces national histories, cultures, and their local fruits.

PURPOSE

Elevate the often overlooked tiny fruit sticker

    Preserve artifacts of design ephemera

    Highlight everyday appearances of design

    Spark connection through shared interest

STICKER ANATOMY

1. PLU
Price Look-Up (PLU) is a system of numbers used to identify produce in grocery stores. It simplifies checkout and helps distinguish between different varieties of fruits and vegetables.

2. FRUIT KIND
The type of fruit the sticker represents. In this archive, fruits like honeydew, watermelon, and cantaloupe are all categorized as melons.

3. COUNTRY OF ORIGIN
The country where the fruit was grown or produced. We try to reference the place of production, not the place or distribution to give readers a better understanding of the climate and distance these fruits have travelled from.

4. BRAND
The manufacturer or brand of the fruit.
